Abstract

An encyclopedia of the ghettos established by the Nazis and by their Romanian and Hungarian allies in Eastern and Central Eastern Europe, arranged alphabetically. Each entry contains a brief history of the establishment and destruction of the ghetto and, when possible, a depiction of Jewish existence in the ghetto and of attempts at resistance.
