## Abstract

The non-abelian self-interactions of closed cosmic strings, carrying SU(N)/Z_{N} electric charges and magnetic fluxes, are analyzed. Following the Nielsen-Olesen geometrical approach, the world sheet of such a loop is non-trivially embedded in R^{4} × CP^{N-1}. The string evolution is then governed by a generalized Weierstrass potential exhibiting discretely degenerate minima. The corresponding soliton solutions are dynamically non-contractible both in real and internal spaces.
