Abstract
The exposure of a solid sample to ionizing radiation may cause changes in its electrical properties which can be utilized, at least in principle, for applications in dosimetry. Several electrical phenomena have been studied in this respect, the best known of which involves changes in the electrical resistivity of the irradiated sample. Other types of processes, which are the subject of this review, are changes induced in the polarization of electrets due to the radiation.
