Abstract
Organizational culture is examined in the industrial enterprises of the Histadrut (General Federation of Labour in Israel), a unique organization built on the ideal of a multifunctional free workers' society. Two research concerns are addressed in this study: (1) the patterning of cultural elements in these organizations, and (2) the degree to which the original collectivist underpinning of the culture of the organization persists in its enterprises.
