Abstract

Two red-haired brothers with thin, brittle corneas and recurrent corneal ruptures are presented. The two brothers, as well as their mother and several other females of the family, have blue scleras but none has any other manifestation of the osteogenesis imperfecta, syndrome. It is suggested that brittle cornea and blue sclera associated with red hair constitute a recessively inherited autosomal or X-linked disease.
