The article discusses the author's views on the conflict between mathematicians Robert Lee Moore and Harry Schultz Vandiver that affected the Department of Applied Mathematics and Astronomy at the University of Texas. He cites that the feud, which was ignited due to personal differences, created academic separations and divided the unity among mathematicians. The author presents a summarized profile of the two with highlights on their differences in terms of academic works and research.
