הספר תהליכי חילון בתרבות היהודית מציג התבוננות רבת פנים על המחשה והתרבות החילונית ועל תהליכי החילון. הנחת היסוד היא שלא ניתן להגדיר את החילון או החילוניות בהגדרות חד-משמעיות, ומשום כך החוקרים המשתתפים בספר מציגים נקודות מבט שונות, הרואות בחילון התהוות ועיצוב של מחשבה חופשית, אך גם חוויה אישית וקולקטיבית. --
