Abstract

Disillusionment signifies a significant intellectual and emotional transition, necessitating the difficulty in abandoning familiar notions to confront harsh realities. Through an analysis of talkbacks in "Haaretz," this article delves into the linguistic patterns of disillusionment discourse, revealing its cultural and political implications. I argue that the inward focus on "us"in disillusionment discourse disregards the Palestinian perspective, thereby reinforcing a narrative that marginalizes the Other.
