The WEIZAC Challenge: Building an Electronic Brain in Rehovot

This chapter describes the challenges faced by the leaders of the WEIZAC project: the institutional challenge, the human challenge, the material challenge (comprising the bulding of an adequate lab, purchasing the components, and ensuring the budget), the implementation challenge (comprising both building WEIZAC and having it reach the operational stage) and, finally, the scientific challenge, invovling the question of how to make the most of the machine on behalf of the research projects of the institute.
