ملخص
Includes a new stratigraphic interpretation based on both palyno- and lithostratigraphy. Since the palynologic succession is very similar to those in the Southern Alps and Greenland, a comparison between those localities is also made. It is shown that: palynologic assemblages undergo a drastic change within the boundary interval; in the subsurface of Israel, the succession assigned to the Late Permian Lueckisporites virkkiae Zone is characterized by striate bisaccate pollen; at the top of the Permian succession is a horizon rich in reworked palynomorphs and other land-derived organic debris; acritarchs are abundant in layers in the lower part of the stratal sequence here regarded as Early Triassic; lycopodes, such as Kraeuselisporites and Endosporites papillatus are among the first representatives of land plants above the "acritarch spike'. Following Visscher & Brugman's (1988) ideas on the nature of the Permo-Traissic boundary in the Southern Alps, a vegetative succession for the boundary interval is suggested. -from Author
