ملخص

Technology entrepreneurship is defined as the act of transforming innovation into marketed product. Academic institutes, which are basically aimed at generating new knowledge and disseminating it, have become involved in recent years in such acts, transferring technology to industry. While entrepreneurship is commonly believed to be related to forming start-ups, technology entrepreneurship in a university has this and many other different forms. We describe the technology entrepreneurial process as it is realised in an Israeli research university, and demonstrate that successful process relies on a synchronised effort of the researcher and the university's commercialising entity. The process is enhanced by actions taken to bridge the development gap that exists between the scientific-based novelty, and the application-proven requirements of the industry.
