ملخص

This chapter discusses some important instances of distributivity-like ideas appearing in the Islamicate tradition. It starts by examining al-Nayrīzī’s additions to the Elements that appear in the framework of his report on Heron’s Commentary. It also discuss briefly Abū Kāmil’s version of propositions from Book II, as well as an interesting appearance of distributivity-like considerations surfacing in the work of al-Khayyām.
