Informatics Education for School: A European Initiative.

What steps can be taken to support the advancement of informatics education at school level across Europe, especially when responsibility for education is devolved to each individual country (and sometimes to regions within countries)? In the age of the digital revolution, informatics must be developed as a fundamental discipline in school. But what steps can be taken to support the advancement of informatics education at school level across Europe, especially when responsibility for education is devolved to each individual country (and sometimes to regions within countries)? To provide a coherent vision and shared terminology, we have recently proposed an informatics reference framework for school. This article provides some background and an overview of the framework.
