ملخص
Relates three medieval Christian stories concerning Mary, mother of Jesus, in which Jews are cast in the role of witnesses to the "truth" of Christianity. The first and third stories contain elements of antisemitism. In the first, a Jew attempts to defile Mary's body during her funeral; he is immediately punished, but "sees the light" and converts to Christianity. In the third, a Jew steals and defiles an icon of Mary, but it is recovered and becomes miraculous. These and other stories were used by Christians to authenticate their beliefs and to vilify the Jews.
